Why should I get a pool inspection?
→ If
you are buying, and the home you are interested in has a pool or spa, an inspection will reveal a lot about not only the overall function of the filtration equipment, but could identify small leaks or other safety issues that you could negotiate to have repaired by the seller.
→ If you
own a home with a pool, having an inspection before opening the pool for the season could alert you to maintenance items that will extend the pool’s overall life, or even prevent equipment failure.
What is inspected?
Every home is different, and no pool or spa setups are the same. Depending on what applies to your homes pool and spas setup as well as your specific situation, our trusted vendor partner will visually inspect the following:
→ Pool structure
→ Decking, coping, tile
→ Pool/spa lights
→ Electrical equipment, GFCIs, timers
→ Visible above ground plumbing
→ Spa jets, fill valves
→ Filters, skimmer basket, valves, pumps
→ Gauges and safety features!
Even if the pool is closed for the season, many of the items above can still be inspected and provide you great information!
What types of issues could be found, and what do I do?
→ Don’t let go of our poolside dreams just yet…Depending on the findings, you may still be able to kick back and relax by the pool before the season’s end.
→ Buyers should always consult with their Realtor® first, regarding their contract terms.
→ Some things that we have seen on Pool inspections include failing filtration systems, leaking liners, faulty electrical systems for the lighting or power supplies, hazardous decking or tiles, and non-functional safety features like gate locks.
