When should I get this inspection?
→ If you are buying a home, ask your realtor because a WDI Inspection may be needed to satisfy your loan requirements. Even if it isn’t required, it’s never a bad idea to add this service.
→ If you own a home and have noticed insects hanging around your deck or fence wood, or found “sawdust” on the floor of unfinished areas of your home, you may want to schedule this inspection!
How do you inspect?
Not only are all of our home inspectors certified for WDI Inspections, but we have also partnered with PestNow to provide this inspection, and offer a 1-Year Termite Warranty!
→ As the inspector moves throughout your Maryland house, they will use their years of training to look for signs of wood-destroying insect activity.
Each insect leaves a unique calling card—mud tubes, wood shavings, dust or fine powder, frass, etc.—which is important for determining how to remediate the problem.
→ Areas of concern will be identified in writing, and noted on the appropriate Form NPMA-33 to satisfy any requirement you may have from a loan company.
What if the WDI inspection finds something?
→
Don’t stress out… unless you already fell through your living room floor, in that case you can stress out!
→ Buyers
should always consult with their Realtor® first, regarding their contract terms.
→ Thanks to our partnership with PestNow, getting treatment quotes is fast and easy.
→ If the inspection revealed any potential structural concerns, we can also help by performing an
Advanced Structural Assessment to determine the severity of the issue!
