Job Summary:
Currently we are only looking to hire licensed, experienced home inspectors;

As a licensed home inspector, you would assess new or previously owned houses to determine the condition of the home’s systems and structure. Using licensed software you are required to document identified building code violations (if applicable for new construction) and defects or safety concerns regarding interior and exterior home features including: foundation, roofing, plumbing and electrical, heating and cooling systems. You may also be expected to complete additional testing and services—as needed—outlined below. Performing commercial inspections is a growth vertical for this position.

Essential Functions:
This position reports to the Director of Field Services. No employee reports to this position. The primary responsibility of someone in this position is to provide unparalleled inspection service and assure the timely completion of inspection services and reports. It is important that telephone calls from the office or staff are answered as soon as possible and emails are addressed in a timely manner.
In addition, this position is responsible for learning and adhering to company procedures regarding:
  • Report writing—Using Home Inspector Pro (HIP) Software—and timely submission
  • Informing management of customer service issues
  • Offering/selling of additional services
  • Reporting and documenting abnormal conditions and results when performing services, such as accidental breakage, owner/occupant concerns and agent feedback
 
Additional Responsibilities:
Additional responsibilities can be added as deemed necessary by owner to maintain a competitive edge or address business growth opportunities. Aside from the specific areas identified herein, there are overriding generic challenges which characterize this position. They include:
  • Radon Test Kit pick-ups which were not necessarily deployed by incumbent
  • Tracking of inspections completed by incumbent
  • Following scripts and procedures taught to incumbent during inspections
  • Providing Business Develop Department with inspection specifics, photos and stories for Social Media and Grassroots marketing
  • Provide backup support to other inspectors when needed
 
Job Qualifications:
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Suite of products
  • Working knowledge of inspection reporting software; preference given to those with Home Inspector Pro or Scribeware Experience.
  • General understanding of computers
  • Excellent grammar skills
  • High school Education or equivalent
  • Great interpersonal skills
  • MD state inspection license required; preference given to inspectors holding Virginia Certification in addition to Maryland.
  • Two (2) year experience preferred as a licensed inspector
  • Certification from a state recognized certification authority such as the International Association of Certified Home Inspectors (InterNACHI)
  • Valid driver’s license
